WHAT TO EXPECT

CONGRATULATIONS! You have taken the first step in properly educating yourself with the skills and attitude necessary to carry a concealed handgun for self protection.

Expect a full 16 hours* jam packed with training and skills development including:

Firearms Safety
Basic Principles of Marksmanship
Care, Cleaning, Loading and Unloading of a Concealable Firearm
All Applicable State and Federal Laws Relating to the Ownership, Storage, Carry and Transportation of a Firearm
Appropriate and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm
Self Defense Simulations
Criteria for Selecting Your First Concealable Firearm
Firearms Handling and Usage / Range Qualification
Online Skills Assessments Covering All Course Objectives

* (Our 3 hour Concealed Carry Renewal is a subset of the above course topics)

Our classes are designed with your safety in mind, not only with respect to handling firearms but also with your personal health. Training tools will be regularly sanitized during in class handling. Social distancing is enforced and a MASK is required at all times.

Temperatures will be checked upon arrival and you will be restricted from attending should your temperature fall outside of the acceptable range. You will be able to attend a future course with no rescheduling fee applied. However, should you decide to request a refund instead of rescheduling, you will be subject to a $25 processing fee.

WHAT TO BRING

Water and/or your favorite non-alcoholic beverage
Your favorite snacks and/or lunch. There are also plenty of nearby options for lunch as well.
Fully charged mobile phone AND your phone charger. Will we be taking selfies? SURE! But more importantly, your mobile phone is required for the online skills assessment after each course objective is covered.
Paper/notebook/writing instruments for note taking
An open mind for learning
Ear protection suitable for gun range training (if you have it). If you do not have ear protection on range day, a set will be given to you for the range qualification that is yours to keep. Click here for EAR PROTECTION RECOMMENDATIONS

WHAT TO WEAR

Comfortable clothing appropriate for an all-day classroom session.
Open toe shoes/sandals are discouraged.
Be mindful that you will be trained on drawing from a holster, therefore, jeans, slacks, trousers, etc. with a good sturdy belt are highly encouraged.

PRO-TIP : For range day, it is highly recommended to wear long sleeves and no v-neck or low-cut tops (ladies) as hot brass will be ejected from the handgun during range qualification and can burn your skin on contact.

WHAT TO LEAVE AT HOME

Alcohol and drugs of any kind that will impair your cognitive ability
Children, spouses, significant others, friends or family that are NOT registered for this course
Bad attitudes, know-it-all attitudes, closed minds and negative energy
Firearms and Ammunition. NO STUDENT FIREARMS OR AMMO are allowed in the classroom facility. However, you are allowed to perform your range qualification with your OWN handgun and ammo if you choose. Your handgun and ammo MUST remain in your vehicle until it is time for the range qualification portion of the class.

PRO-TIP: If you are bringing your own handgun and ammo for range qualification, it is highly encouraged that you store them securely in a quality safe designed for vehicle handgun storage. Click here for GUN SAFE RECOMMENDATIONS.
